Our Team
Founder and Therapist
Jennifer Lachance-Poirrier, LPC, ATR-BC
Jen (she/her) is an EMDR Certified Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Art Therapist.
She specializes in trauma, grief, toxic cycles, anxiety, depression, PTSD, women's health, relationship concerns, parenting struggles, and general life dissatisfaction. When appropriate, she offers art as a way to work through difficult emotions.
She began her career in the business world as a buyer in the fashion industry, where she stayed for five years prior to going back to school to obtain her masters in art therapy. She believes having experience in a field outside of providing therapy has broadened her perspective and skillset.
Once she became an art therapist, she started working with young people in schools, providing art therapy in a classroom setting. There she was exposed indirectly to trauma and grief, and realized it was where she wanted to focus her time and energy.
Prior to being in private practice, she worked on the hospice and palliative care team of a major hospital network where she helped families and their children navigate their grief.

During the pandemic she was trained in EMDR and has since enjoyed watching her clients transform their lives as they work through difficult moments they've experienced.
She feels humbled and honored to be a part of an individual's personal journey. While our experiences and feelings are all unique we are walking through this world together. It is important to Jen that her clients do not feel alone in their journey.

Her Philosophy: We are all unique, and she believes you should be treated that way. She will never put your feelings or emotions into a mold. She uses a compassionate, empathetic, and strength-based approach in her sessions.

Art therapy is the process of combining different art materials with common talk therapy practices to work through difficult feelings and emotions. The creative process allows for additional pathways to open, promoting insight and growth. This can be especially helpful when working with trauma.
